The bottom of the Fish Standard Boogie/Bodyboard-42¡¨ is made of high density polyethylene or HDPE as it¡¦s more commonly known. This material is great for the bottom of any bodyboard. It is very similar to the material that golf balls are covered in. It also helps to keep the cost of the board down for you. But don¡¦t think that just because it¡¦s cheaper, it won¡¦t last as long as materials like Surlyn, because it will.
The core features 1.9 pcf laminated polyethylene (PE) foam 50mm. PE is great for use in the core of a bodyboard. It has been around since the early 70¡¦s and to this day, it is still considered the standard foam used in bodyboards. This material will give you an excellent projection in the water.
8T (4mm) cross-link PE foam is what the deck is comprised of. Cross-link is one of the most durable materials available for bodyboards. One of its best qualities is that it does not absorb water very much so your board will remain lightweight while you are doing some barrel riding.
